Jensen Returns From France

High in California’s Central Coast, within the Gabilan Mountains AVA, Calera’s estate vineyards are defined by rare, limestone-rich soils, an uncommon foundation that gives the wines their distinctive character. The name Calera, meaning “lime kiln,” reflects this geological heritage. Here, elevation, climate, and soil work in harmony, allowing each vineyard to express itself with clarity, elegance, and restraint.

Calera is best known for its Pinot Noir, wines that balance richness with finesse and structure with grace. Each vineyard bottling reflects its individual site, revealing subtle nuances shaped by soil, exposure, and climate. Chardonnay and other varietals are crafted with the same thoughtful approach, guided by minimal intervention and a focus on purity and freshness.
